Cake Aways by Marone – Terms & Conditions

1. Orders, Deposits & Payments

1.1 A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking and event date.

1.2 The deposit may be paid via EFT. The remaining balance may be paid via EFT or card in store.

1.3 The full balance must be paid by the due date indicated on your quotation or invoice.

1.4 Failure to settle the balance by the due date renders the contract null and void, and the deposit will not be refunded.

2. Changes & Design Finalisation

2.1 The final payment date is the final date for any changes to:

  • Cake size

  • Flavour

  • Design style

  • Decorative elements

2.2 Any changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed and may incur additional charges.

2.3 All cakes are created within the Cake aways by Marone signature style.

While reference images are welcome, exact replication is not guaranteed.

Each cake is handcrafted and designs may vary slightly due to artistic process, availability of materials, and hand-crafted techniques.

2.4 Colours, textures, and finishes may differ slightly from screen images due to lighting, printing, or natural variation in ingredients and materials.

3. Collection & Late Fees

3.1 Collection times:

  • Monday–Friday: 12:00 – 17:00

  • Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00

3.2 A R200 late collection fee applies for collections outside these hours.

3.3 If you require your order before 12:00, you must select the previous collection day.

4. Delivery, Setup & Liability

4.1 Delivery and setup fees depend on the venue location and will be stated in your final quote.

4.2 Once the cake has been delivered and/or setup is completed, responsibility for the cake transfers to the client.

4.3 We are not responsible for damage caused by:

  • Heat

  • Humidity

  • Wind

  • Poor table stability

  • Guest interference

4.4 The client must provide:

  • A sturdy, level table

  • A suitable environment (recommended temperature: 23°C or below)

  • Protection from direct sunlight and heat

5. Pick-Up Orders

5.1 If the client or representative collects and/or sets up the cake, full responsibility transfers upon collection.

5.2 We are not liable for any damage after the cake leaves our premises.

6. Flowers & External Decorations

6.1 If fresh flowers or external decorations are provided by the client, an additional placement fee applies.

6.2 The client acknowledges that fresh flowers are not food products and may contain pesticides, insects, or contaminants.

7. Photography & Marketing

7.1 We reserve the right to photograph all cakes.

7.2 These images may not be used for portfolio, website, social media, advertising, and promotional purposes without compensation.

8. Allergens & Food Safety

8.1 Our products may contain or come into contact with:

  • Milk

  • Wheat

  • Eggs

  • Nuts

  • Soy

  • Other allergens

8.2 The client agrees to inform guests of potential allergen exposure.

8.3 Cake Aways by Marone is held harmless for allergic reactions.

9. Force Majeure

9.1 Performance of this agreement is subject to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Power outages

  • Load shedding

  • Labour disputes

  • Accidents

  • Acts of God

  • Illness or emergency

In such cases, all reasonable efforts will be made to fulfil the order.

10. Acceptance of Terms

10.1 Payment of the deposit constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
