Our Story
Hi, I’m Marone! My passion for baking began at a very young age, inspired by my formidable grandma, a master home baker. I cherish the memories of her pouring love and detail into every cake and treat she crafted.
In 2012, I baked my first cake for a dear friend, and I instantly knew I wanted to explore this journey further. My love for baking led me to study Hospitality Management, where I honed my skills while selling brownies and muffins from my residence room to my housemates.
After graduating, I began working off my bursaries but continued my baking journey by creating themed cakes from home. For two years, I balanced a full-time job with my home bakery until I took a leap of faith to follow my dream. In 2017, I officially established Cake Aways by Maroné, and since then, my passion and clientele have expanded rapidly.
In 2021, amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we opened our very own store in response to the growing demand for small cakes and treats. Today, we are proud to serve a larger market, offering affordable, beautiful, and delicious cakes crafted with love.
Behind every cake and treat is a dedicated team passionate about creating not just delicious desserts, but also beautiful creations for special occasions like birthdays, weddings, baby showers, christenings, and more.
